Ever embarrassed by a JW?

when i was a jw and married to one, my wife's grandparents invited us over for a sunday dinner, a very nice one indeed.

wife's brother, his buddy, and wife's parents were all jw's.

the grandparents, however, were catholic.

I once went off to a DC with a small group of brothers in their late teens early 20's. As it was quite a drive we booked into a small family run guest house to stay local to the DC.

One night we were woken by crashing, screaming and banging noises. Two of the brothers that were staying at the other end of the guest house were drunk and play wrestling stark bollock naked in the hall way. They'd started up in their bedroom, smashed that up while fighting then it had spilled out onto the hall way. The noise not only woke us up but the owner of the guest house who came to find what all the noise was and who found two naked idiots wrestling on the floor.

The Guest house owners knew we were all witnesses and at breakfast the next morning there was a very awkward atmosphere between us and the owner and his family.

Need marriage help

i am reposting the major part of another thread "need computer help" because i am really looking for advice a situation with my husband.

i need to know if i am crazy to be worried.

so here it is.... ok, since i seem to be getting responses from guys and there's no way anyone i know will see this,i will tell you the story.

I see you're problem now and while i dont approve of people spying on their partners I do understand your desire to do something like this.

If you want I can teach you how to block those bondage sites on your husbands laptop. He wont be aware they are being blocked and to all intents and purposes it will just look like those sites have gone down.

Unfortunately it will mean you'll have to update this file every time he discovers a new site though.

What computer Os is he using? win98, windows millennium or windows xp... or is he on a MAC

You just have to follow your conscience Ballsey. Personally I wouldn't like to be the one that helped split a couple up (But that's my personal point of view)

Dr Jekyll, I could do it. Do you think it's wrong? I bet there's big money in it.

I think it's well dodgy ethically. It's akin to reading someones diary. Add to that the fact that none of us really know the poster or what kind of person they are. For all we know *they* could be up to no good.

being raised a jw, imho, is basically being raised with more demon influence then anything else.

i do not mean this in the sense that it might be taken.

what it did for me, the up bringing that is, is put the idea in my head that everywhere i went i had to be very careful of satans influence.

Maybe this Demon Anxiety is also a cultural thing. I don't come from a very superstitious culture. The Idea that a demon has possessed and lives in a second hand book for instance is pretty stupid.. (It sounds stupid even if you take into account that Satan does stuff that sounds stupid just so that you wont believe in him)

I have heard about this "demon-anxiety" from other people who were raised in "the truth" as well, but never from someone who became a JW as an adult (lol, how does that happen anyway, how can anyone be dumb enough to become a JW as an adult, geeze

I was raised in the truth, I've never had this demon-anxiety though. In my experience it was always the people that had come out of the world that were like this. So the complete opposite of your experience
